Upcoming Events

Thanks to everyone who participated in Pride this past weekend.  EF had a small but dedicated group who marched in the Pride Parade on Saturday, getting a bit drenched near the end, but having fun nevertheless..  We received many shouts of "hey Fairfax", a good chance for visibility for us.  We also meeted and greeted many old and new friends at the Pride Festival on Sunday as many folks stopped by the EF booth.

Our upcoming events are listed below including a concert in Loudoun promoted by our friends Equality Loudoun, a NoVA community meeting on Transgender Issues and Workplace Non-discrimination for the GLBT community, and the Annual Equality Fairfax Summer Picnic.

EF Annual Summer Picnic
Sunday, July 20th, Noon-4pm
Nottoway Park
9537 Courthouse Road
Vienna, VA 22181

Join us at Equality Fairfax's 7th Annual Summer Picnic.

Come and make some memories. Got kids? bring em! Got a dog? Bring em! Got a partner/husband/wife/friend bring them too - everyone is welcome. Last year about 100 folks came out.

Meet some new friends; touch base with some old ones that you may not have seen in a year. When was the last time you played picnic games? Watch the kids try to run in the three legged race, see who gets the wettest during the water balloon toss (one of the kids favorites).

Plenty of parking. Plenty of shade or sun. Good cover in the event of less than perfect weather. Lots of room to eat and mingle. Do you have friends in town for the weekend? Bring them to this is very nice community event you’ll be glad you did.

Bring your meat/veggies to BBQ and a lawn/beach chair if you'd like to lounge (we have picnic tables). We will supply drinks, charcoal, buns, side dishes, paper products and condiments (and some cookies too!).

We are currently looking for people to be on the Picnic Committee - do you have planning skills, enthusiasm, imagination and heart? Then you are just who we need. Contact Linda at Lindak@equalityfairfax.org if you would like to be on the picnic committee.
