Capital Pride Parade
Saturday, June 14th, 6:30pm
23rd and M Street, NW, DC
Equality Fairfax is joining together with the other Northern Virginia groups to be part of the parade. So if you want to march through DC waving at the thousands of people cheering the parade on, come join us.
The NoVa parade contingent will line up for the start at 23rd and M, NW on Saturday June 14th at 5:30pm. The parade kicks off at 6:30pm. The group is listed under AGLA (Arlington G&L Alliance) if you need to ask a marshall to find us.
This is a great way to enjoy pride, it's very affirming, and a good way to provide visibility for the NoVa groups. We look forward to seeing you there.
Northern Virginia Interfaith Pride Service
Monday, June 16th, 7:00pm
Hosted by Hope United Church of Christ
6130 Old Telegraph Road
Alexandria, VA
And after a busy Pride weekend, join others to reflect during a wonderful celebration of various faith traditions within our area's GLBT community. Approximately 18 congregations or groups (including EF) are sponsoring the Northern Virginia Interfaith Pride Service, hosted by Hope UCC. The theme this year is "History, Legacy, Vision" and will celebrate through readings, reflection and song the GLBT faith community.
A nice way to end Pride week.
Metro DC PFLAG Brunch
Sunday, June 29th, 12:30-2:30pm
Savoy Hotel
2505 Wisconsin Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20007
And finally, we're pleased to provide information about an upcoming PFLAG event - "A Brunch Celebrating Our Parents, Families and Friends". PFLAG is a great organization that supports us and our families.
We all know the stories of families who struggle to embrace their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members, but we sometimes forget to celebrate those families and friends who have embraced their loved ones regardless of orientation or gender expression. This is the time to do that!
Tickets are $35 each for a wonderful brunch and may be purchased by calling (202) 638-3852 ext. 221 or by mailing a check and ticket request to: Metro DC PFLAG, 1111 14th Street NW, Suite 350, Washington, DC 20005. Number of tickets are limited so please reserve early.
