HART Adoption Day
Volunteer Opportunity
Homeless Animal Rescue Team (HART)
Saturday, March 15th
12pm-2:30pm

Equality Fairfax is proud to have a long history of volunteering with HART, a fabulous organzition that works to adopt homeless dogs and cats. Every weekend, HART hosts adoption events around the county. But, what is needed are volunteers to help show the dogs at these adoption events. While it isn't Westminster, it is a very rewarding experience.

The more volunteers that come, the more dogs that can be shown which means more opportunities for adoption. As a volunteer, you would be asked to learn a few facts about your dog and simply hold the lease while prospective adoptors stop by and visit. If you have questions, please email Equality Fairfax Board member (and HART dog owner) Jay Dick at jay@equalityfairfax.org. To volunteer, please email Jay so HART will know how many dogs to bring.

EV Commonwealth Dinner
Saturday, April 5th
5:30pm-10:00pm
Richmond

Join EF at the 5th Annual Commonwealth Dinner. Equality Virginia hosts its annual dinner in Richmond on Saturday, April 5th -- the largest GLBT dinner in Virginia. Last year 1,200 people attended!

The keynote speaker for the event is New York State Assembly member Daniel O’Donnell (Rosie's brother), O’Donnell represents NY's 69th district as the second openly-gay state legislator and has led the fight for marriage equality there. For further information about the dinner or to purchase a ticket go to the Equality Virginia website. To sit at the EF table, please select Equality Fairfax as the table host.

In addition to the great company, fabulous speakers, awards presentations, and dance don't forget about the silent auction and this years raffle of a 2008 Nissan Xterra (through the generosity of Pence Auto). There were only 2000 tickets printed, and they will sell for $25 each or five for $100. Click here to learn more.
