Delegate Marsden told us that his views are unchanged from October so we are bringing you that recording. Though it refers to the November election that recently took place, it is still applicable to this special election.

Yes, in fact, I cosponsored HB 2385 to end discrimination based on sexual orientation in the workplace.

2. Thousands of LGBT families call the Commonwealth of Virginia home, including many here in Fairfax County. Would you support the repeal of the Marshall-Newman amendment which defines marriage as solely between one man and one woman and bans recognition of any legal status “approximat[ing] the design, qualities, significance, or effects of marriage”?

General statement

I have worked to improve the quality of life for the people of the 67th District for over 40 years. From homeowner’s association president to Thomas Jefferson High School PTSA president to member of the School Board to Delegate, I have made the citizens of the 67th District my top priority. Furthermore, I believe in the US Constitution, which clearly states that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law.

Gerry Connolly

This podcast episode is an interview with Gerry Connolly, one of the candidates running for the 11th district U.S. House of Representatives seat.

We had hoped to do a candidate forum with Mr. Connolly and his opponent, Keith Fimian, but unfortunately, the Fimian campaign never responded to our inquiries. Should that change and Mr. Fimian sit down with us and record an interview, we’ll make that audio available on the website.

Eva Freund

This is part three of four in conversation with Eva Freund that took place on September 2nd, 2008. In this part, Eva talks about her professional life including her time in the Naval Reserves.

In part one, she talks about coming out (or given the danger of coming out back then, really, not coming out). She also talks about her time with the Mattachine Society of Washington. The Mattachine Society was one of the first gay rights groups to form in the country and helped bring media attention to the gay rights issue. They worked toward changing government regulations toward gay employees and began the education process that continues to this day.
