Possible Down Time Oct 30 - Nov 1

Our hosting provider is migrating our server to a new colocation facility. This could happen as early as October 30th but should be complete by November 1st. Because of this change, the IP address of our server will change. Because of the way DNS works, it may take some time for that change to propagate out to rest of the net. During that time, you may not be able to access the EF website. It's also possible that email to us may bounce (though in most cases, email servers will retry for a few days before they give up).  read more »

A New Look for EF

The EF website has a new look! Although we think this looks nicer than the last look for the site, the real reason for the change isn't simply fashion. It's to make it easier to find information on the site.  read more »

Website Updates

The software the runs the EF website was updates tonight. There shouldn't be any user-visible changes because of this. The changes were bug fixes and security updates, but, as with any update, there is a possibility for unintended consequences.

They can be serious, fun, political, social or just about anything in between. We'll be posting regular blog entries on the site, though not on a fixed schedule.  read more »

Some Spurious Notifications Sent Out

For those that get automatic email notification of new content on the EF site, you may have received approximately 70 emails about new content for things that were old. I had done some batch updating to some content for some planned formatting changes and didn't think this would trigger the notifications. Unfortunately, I was wrong.  read more »

Link Previews

Links that lead off the site now have a small icon next to them. If you hover your mouse over that icon a small preview of the linked site will be shown. This lets you get an idea of where the link will be taking you. If it is a link that stays on the EF site, it won't have that small icon.  read more »
